This past Day of Atonement, during Fresh Fire's Miracles, Signs & Wonders Conference, three members of the ministry's apostolic team decided to wait on the Lord: Todd Bentley, Charlie Robinson (a seer prophet and itinerate minister with Fresh Fire), and Kevin Paterson (prophetic teacher and scribe/editor for Fresh Fire books and articles). God was faithful to release some profound revelation for the body of Christ. For the understanding of our readers: the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), since the time of Moses, has been recognized by the Jews as one of the most important sacred days of the Biblical year. This day takes place at the end of the 10 Days of Awe, which are set aside for repentance and restitution, starting on the first day of the Jewish civic New Year and ending on the tenth day (The Day of Atonement). In Leviticus, the Lord instituted this day for the atoning of sin (on the tenth day of the seventh month) saying, "This shall be an everlasting statute for you, to make atonement for the children of Israel, for all their sins, once a year" (Leviticus 16:34). The Jews have observed that day ever since the Lord instituted it. This article will outline the insights recently received from the Lord on this day and then establish their scriptural foundation. Much of the Truth of these words, like natural seed, needs time to develop and mature. These revelations apply to 2005 and to subsequent years. We believe that future revelations will provide greater clarity to those you read here. Although we have drawn out some of the meaning of the visions and experiences described, we have left room for you as the reader to seek the Lord for complete understanding and for the application in your life. Prophetic Insights for the Year VISION: THE NEW CAR In one of the first visions on the Day of Atonement, in the spirit, Todd heard the revving of an engine and the screech of wheels -- then he saw the car called Fast. The Lord was driving the car. He got out of the car and tossed the keys to Todd saying, "Todd, this one is not for lease. It's ownership." He knew that the Lord was giving him the car (because ownership brings authority) and was inviting him to get behind the wheel and drive. This car called Fast was to be driven in the fast lane so that people could get to their destiny quickly -- it's a vehicle of acceleration. The Lord said, "Todd, if you are going to handle this vehicle, it only drives on one highway -- the highway of holiness. It handles well on the highway of holiness. That's how you get in the fast lane." In another scene of this prophetic experience, there was a slick, very convincing, salesman in an old car lot. In this lot all the cars were called Oldsmobiles. Todd was amazed that more people were looking at the Oldsmobiles than the 2005 "Fast" model. The car salesman would tell people: "You don't need one of those Fast cars. These Oldsmobiles are fine the way they are -- they've been good for all these years already, haven't they?" INTERPRETATION: CAR VISION It was a 2005 model vehicle -- at the time of the vision; the month was September -- the time of the year when the new models of each car manufacturer were being introduced. These cars have new gadgets; people who really love cars can't wait to see what the new model looks like. Spiritually speaking, cars are usually symbolic of ministry or the work of the Lord -- an aspect of our life that travels and moves about in the world. We believe that this year is a time when the Lord will begin to introduce new ministries to the world and new ways of doing His work. He's also going to raise up ministries or vehicles in the body of Christ that will advance His kingdom with speed and great acceleration. What would've taken 20 years in the Body of Christ, in peoples' lives, or in their destinies, will now only take six years. Kingdom advancement, or destiny acceleration, that would have taken six months will now take place in six minutes. Things are speeding up in the move of God and the car is full of fuel and oil -- it's ready for the fast lane. It's significant that the Lord said this car only travels on the highway of holiness, the road described in Isaiah 35:8: "A highway shall be there, and a road, and it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, shall not go astray." For the church or for ministries to advance and accelerate with the great speed the Lord has destined for them, holiness and purity is absolutely necessary -- this car only travels on the highway of holiness. We believe that this year the Lord is calling His body to a higher level of righteous living -- He will be convicting and purifying hearts with greater intensity, so that His people can take the "fast lane" in this new season of the church. Although the Lord is offering His people keys to the car called Fast (new revelation and ministry models from heaven), the enemy, like the Oldsmobile salesman, is trying to persuade Christians to be satisfied with the old way of thinking, ministering, doing church, and thinking about God. He wants the church to remain in its old religious ways, "having a form of godliness but denying its power" (2 Timothy 3:5). There are just some people that can't part with the old -- that demonic salesman is at work today, trying to convince people to be satisfied with the old. However, God is always doing a new thing -- He wants us to forget the old ways (Isaiah 43:18,19) and allow Him to show us the totally new model. He's revealing this model to the church to help them get the work of the kingdom done with great ease, speed, and power. We haven't seen this new model before. It's not that we are to abandon old truths -- they stand forever. We are talking about traditions, methods, and packaging. We are talking about a new wineskin, the new structure the Lord wants to give the church to contain the new wine He is starting to pour out. In 2005, God is about to reveal a new vehicle and He's calling us to get behind the wheel. A NEW WINESKIN; A NEW WAY TO IMPACT CULTURE However, until we start to drive, we can't tell how it's going to handle and what the trip is going to look like. We don't know how all the gadgets work yet -- we don't really know how to walk out His new model for doing church and for fulfilling the great commission. But the Lord will teach us. The change is good because familiarity is too comfortable. God wants to bring us out of the place of comfort where apathy can breed. A lot of people never step into the new thing because they fear the unknown and because they get so comfortable with what they've always had. They've grown attached to their plush leather seats (their padded pews), and they like the way the seat and instruments settings are (the system, program, and church structure) and don't want to set them again. Human nature doesn't like uncertainty; we want to know what everything is going to look like in advance, including revival and a move of God. But God won't tell us all the details in advance before the revival baby is born. Natural parents also want to know everything in advance: the child's gender and what it will look like; whether it will be healthy; how they are going to look after it. They want the assurance that nothing will go wrong and that they will be able to handle every situation -- they want to be in control. However, God just wants us to trust Him as He unfolds our future and the church's destiny. He is introducing the new model and He is discontinuing the old model. It is interesting to note that GM just discontinued the Oldsmobile (the oldest surviving car brand in the U.S.) in 2004. Ransom E. Olds offered his first automobile to the public in 1897. In 2000, Oldsmobile sold less than 300,000 cars, so GM gave it the death sentence. The last Oldsmobile, a burgundy-looking Alero sedan, rolled off an assembly line on April 29, 2004. To understand the prophetic analogy, we need to take note of why the Olds died. One Wall Street analyst said, "GM doesn't have too many divisions. They have too little imagination." Analysts say that Oldsmobile always had the latest bells and whistles and were owned by engineering managers and other prosperous individualists. Doctors drove Buicks; tech people drove Oldsmobile. It is said that in the seventies, as GM lost its way, Oldsmobile seemed to abandon its tech innovation and individuality, which, eventually, led to its final demise. In the same way, the scrap yard of Christian ministry is littered with worn out shells of churches and ministries that have not kept up with the new things God was doing. They did not adjust or develop new ways of reaching the world or doing ministry. Today, as the world changes, God has divine strategies as to how we're to impact each culture and how we can receive a new wineskin to dispense his love and power to the world. ISAIAH 35: KEY CHAPTER FOR 2005 While waiting on the Lord, Todd heard from Him that the message in Isaiah 35 would be a map and guide for the church in 2005. The chapter emphasizes four main themes: Refreshing and blossoming in the wilderness, the healing movement, the glory of God, and a grace for holiness. Let's look at each of the themes: 1. Flowers Will Bloom in the Desert As we waited on the Lord, He began to unfold greater revelation from Isaiah 35, about the coming restoration of His people. God reminded Kevin of the common understanding of the first verse: "The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose." This scripture gives great hope to those who have been walking in desert places or whose lives and ministries have been dry and without visible fruit. The Lord has begun that restoration process in many lives and ministries in recent years. The renewal/revival movement over the last decade has been one of the first fruits. However, this restoration work will accelerate this year in many lives and ministries. However, as Kevin was meditating on this verse, the Lord also began to unfold greater treasures of revelation in it. God directed him to turn to the verse in the Amplified version of the Bible (which unfolds the full meaning of the original languages). This version makes a powerful expansion of the verse: "The Wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the rose and the autumn crocus." The Amplified version is the only one that adds the phrase about the autumn crocus. In the natural we know that the rose usually begins blooming in the spring and summer, while the crocus is a late-blooming flower that blossoms in the autumn season. In scripture, the flower can represent glory, or human glory: "…All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away" (1 Peter 1:24). From the first verses of Isaiah 35, we believe the Lord is saying He will take those in dry desert places and restore their glory. Even in the desert place of this world, surrounded by barrenness and death, God's people will shine with His glory. People or ministries have already begun to blossom in the spring season (spiritually speaking); some of them are the early bloomers, the pioneers or the ones the Lord has already begun to launch into their destiny. However, this year, the Lord wants His people to know that He is restoring the broken ones who have been taken out of commission and He is also bringing many people and ministries into their long-awaited, fruitful destinies. The autumn crocus represents those who have waited for their promises to be fulfilled, for their lives and ministries to bloom. Many have begun to think that they have missed out on their destiny. However, it is time for them to realize that their greatest fruitfulness and destiny is yet to come. The autumn crocus is coming to life and ministries are about to bloom. This autumn flower is purple in color, the color of royalty. We believe a new kingly anointing and authority is going to fall on many this year that have been lying in the desert, in a place of dormancy. An aspect of this kingly release will be the apostolic anointing, a glory that will come on many lives this year to begin laying foundations and building. Another part of this restoration is spoken of in verse three and four: "Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are fearful-hearted, 'Be strong, do not fear. Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; He will come and save you.'" According to this passage, we believe that God is also releasing life to those who are broken, weak and fearful. Many have been ravaged by the enemy's strategies in their lives and are afraid to hope again. Often, they have been injured or stolen from, through no fault of their own. However, the Lord will bring vengeance on those works of the enemy and rescue those wounded in kingdom battle. This is the year of recompense! The Lord will even begin to restore, not only ministries, but money stolen from God's people through financial or investment failure/accidents or various forms of injustice. 2. The Glory of God Not only shall the desert blossom with life, according to Isaiah, "The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the LORD, the excellency of our God" (Isaiah 35:2). God's people won't just bloom; the Lord will begin to let them see His glory (His goodness, his greatness) in their lives. In recent years, God's prophets and leaders have preached the message of God's glory, with signs following. However, the Lord will also begin to pour out His glorious, manifest presence in greater measure on lives and in meetings, this year. 3. The Healing Movement Chapter 35 of Isaiah promises that healings and miracles will be manifest among His people: "Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then the lame shall leap like a deer, and the tongue of the dumb sing" (Isaiah 35:5,6). The Lord has already begun, in recent years, to restore the healing ministry to the church, as described in these verses. However, we believe that in 2005 God will begin to expand the healing movement and establish healing rooms and the healing ministry, even in desert places -- denominations and movements that have never embraced Jesus' ministry of healing for today (or have not practiced healing ministry for decades). The healing "waters shall burst forth in the wilderness…The parched ground shall become a pool..." (Isaiah 35:6b, 7a). This year God will cause a bursting forth of healing ministry in some of the driest places -- people and movements that opposed the message of healing for today will begin to embrace the healing word. 4. The Highway of Holiness The greatest emphasis from Isaiah 35 for this year, Todd senses, is that of holiness, as already discussed earlier. God is calling His people to greater sanctification, to travel the fast lane on the highway of holiness. God's fire will begin to fall this year; He will refine His church. The message and emphasis of holy living will spread throughout the church. God will also release His conviction power as well as a grace for holy living. He is going to require a different standard, a higher standard. As the Lord starts a deep cleansing of His Church this year, it will be fully empowered for the reformation and great harvest to come. The Lord also confirmed this coming emphasis to Kevin, waking him up in the middle of the night to speak the words: "The days of Awe. The days of Awe." God began to show him that although the official Day of Atonement (the last of 10 days of Awe) was coming to a close, the Church is now entering a season of Awe. Just as the Jewish "Days of Awe" emphasize repentance and holiness, so would the next year. The word "awe" speaks of reverential fear of God; it also conveys the meaning of having awe or great wonder at the awesome works of the Lord. In 2005, we will see increased holiness in the church igniting greater supernatural wonders. SONRISE OVER AUSTRALIA In another vision, Todd was surrounded by a golden beam of light. The Lord drew his attention to Malachi 4:2, which speaks of the Son of Righteousness rising with healing in His wings. In the vision, the Son rose over Australia. It was a new day. The Son of Righteousness represented Christ's healing anointing, His rays of healing. [The Lord then reminded Todd of a similar vision a while ago in which he was standing on a sea of glass like crystal. Shafts of light from the Son of Righteousness (about five inches by five inches) would hit the sea of glass and ricochet off, like light rays refracted through a prism and becoming light full of various colors: red, blue, green, emerald etc. A couple of these beams hit his body. The beams, traveling at the speed of light would arrive first; the sounds of heaven would follow, arriving later, at the speed of sound. The healing rays of light from the Son of Righteousness would hit him, transmitting physical healing and more. He said his whole being vibrated and thundered with sound, as if 50,000 voices were all singing in harmony, singing different songs at the same time. Yet he understood every song. They were singing, "I love you; you are accepted; you are beautiful; you are worthy" -- all the words that the Father sings over His children. Todd knew the Father was singing over him who he was in God, assuring him he was worthy, accepted, loved and beautiful. Every time one of these beams hit him, he would hear the heavenly choir singing these songs of the Father's love. The natural mind couldn't understand these thousands of songs at once, but Todd's spirit man was able to understand and feel the love and acceptance. They were healing rays that would touch the heart's broken places.] Recalling the previous vision gave Todd immediate understanding of what the first vision represented for Australia. He knew that the Son of Righteousness and healing, love, and acceptance was rising over Australia -- it was the dawning of a new day, a day of acceptance, a day for healing revival in the nation. AUSTRALIA VITAL KEY IN THE COMING REVIVAL Then Todd saw Indonesia in his spirit and recalled the recent terrorist attack on the Australian embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia. A scripture from Isaiah 64:3 came to him; this scripture talks about the nations trembling in His presence. Then the Lord said, "Even as nations and economies have trembled and been shaken by terrorism, stock market crashes, etc., whole nations will tremble in my presence." God revealed that the terrorist attack in Jakarta was a result of the enemy becoming aware of God's destiny for Indonesia, Malaysia, and other countries in South East Asia. God said that Australia was a vital key in the revival coming to the other countries in the region and in reaching the Muslim people. That beam of righteousness was shining into that region. A natural shaking had come as a result of the terrorist attack, but now we are going to see nations shaking and trembling in His presence. Even in recent years, nations have shaken with fear as a result of stock market crashes and terrorism; but now the power of God's righteousness is going to do some shaking. The whole chapter of Isaiah 64 is key for this upcoming year, especially the first three verses: "Oh, that You would rend the heavens! That You would come down! That the mountains might shake at Your presence -- as fire burns brushwood, as fire causes water to boil -- to make Your name known to Your adversaries, that the nations may tremble at Your presence! When You did awesome things for which we did not look, You came down, the mountains shook at Your presence." Isaiah 64:1-3 The Lord is going to restore righteousness to His people and wreak judgment on the spiritual enemies that have afflicted His people and left the church devastated and desolate (Isaiah 64:9-11). In the coming season, the church will walk out a strong prophetic revelation of holiness and the fear of the Lord. Isaiah 64:3 describes the presence of God coming down with great holiness and bringing a shaking. REVELATORY ENCOUNTERS FOR IRAQ In a prophetic encounter, Todd also saw that this year God was going to give dreams about Iraq to Christians -- strategic dreams like He gave to Joseph, the father of Jesus. In the book of Matthew, around the time of Jesus' birth and childhood, God gave dreams over and over again to warn them, keep them safe, and give them direction. The Lord is going to give dreams to the church, Christian leaders, and even soldiers, to keep them one step ahead of the enemy and the terrorists. He will even uncover terrorist plans and potential threats. Todd saw a rising tide of Christianity in Iraq. Muslims in Iraq will also begin to have dreams in which they will see Jesus and be saved. These encounters will be similar to those that other Muslims are having all over the world; many of them report seeing "the man in white" in their dreams. Researcher, Lorraine Orris, reports that dreams played a part in about half the conversions of Muslims that she researched. The tide of Christianity will rise in Iraq as God gives dreams to the lost and begins to show signs in the heavens and wonders on the earth. In the same way the Magi followed the stars and the signs in the heavens to find King Jesus, Muslims will be led to the King. To support these new Muslim conversions to Christianity in Iraq, Todd sees God giving dreams to key ministries, calling them into Iraq and giving them a mandate for strategic church or ministry plants which will greatly strengthen the church there. The Lord will also use persecution of believers in Iraq like He used it in Acts 8:1,4 where believers went everywhere preaching the word. Todd feels like God is turning the difficult situation in Iraq for good; the Lord is going to use it for His purpose to cause the gospel to be spread all over Iraq and the Middle East. The church in the Middle East will grow when God accomplishes His purpose in Iraq. FIELD OF DREAMS In one recent, awesome prophetic experience, the Lord took Todd into an area that looked like a deserted battlefield. In his spirit, Todd knew he was walking in the field of dreams. All around him he could see bombed out tanks and discarded or lost empty artillery shells. Pieces of armor littered the field; he could see a helmet and shield almost hidden in the sand. Here and there cannons and different types of instruments of war (from about the 1700s or 1800s) dotted the landscape. Todd realized that most of the weapons and armor were either lost, discarded, covered, or hidden by the sands of time. He had a strong impression that many warriors had abandoned their posts; they had run away from their promises and dreams. Some had become so hopeless, disappointed, and discouraged from the battles in life, they threw away their treasure. Todd saw the Father walking in the field of dreams. Todd watched the Father reaching down tenderly, picking up an old piece of armor. As He dusted off the sand, God's breathing began to change to deep sighs, filled with emotion. Todd sensed His heart as He embraced each piece, taking it close to His chest, holding it there, just as if it was a child. Then He said, "Son, these are lost dreams, these are prophetic promises." "WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR HEART?" Then it dawned on Todd that many saints of old had thrown away their prophetic destinies because they ended up despising prophecy. They just abandoned them. Others tried to keep their prophecies by fighting the good fight of faith, but when the battle became fierce they ran away. When the temptations of the world came, the Christian warriors just left their post, all their prophetic words and dreams. Whole churches and movements, cities, nations, and individuals walked away from their vision, abandoning their dreams! Then the Lord said, "Todd, I want you to walk with me for awhile in the field of dreams because I want to speak with you about my heart's desire for this season. It's time to redeem prophetic promises again for individuals, churches and movements, cities, regions, and nations. I want believers to dream some old dreams! I want them to dream some old visions! The dreams and visions are not lost forever. I want to resurrect them! My word will not return unto me void! It will accomplish the purpose for which it came out of my mouth" (Isaiah 55:11). Then, God began offering the old, discarded, lost dreams and visions to Todd. But he knew instinctively these dreams were intended for every believer -- the Lord was inviting each one of us to dream with Him. And then He asked this question, "Todd, what do you have in your heart?" FINDING OUR TREASURE Many of us don't really understand just what is in our hearts; the treasure that the Father has placed inside us. We need to recognize and see our treasure because, "…where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matthew 6:21). So the question is this: "Where are our spiritual eyes?" We can't see in the invisible realm or discover our treasure if we don't know where our eyes are. This year the Lord wants His people to learn to dream with Him and to redeem lost prophetic promises. The apostle Paul spoke about how God would enlighten the eyes of our understanding, or the eyes of our heart: "…the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints." Ephesians 1:18 The meaning for 'eyes of our understanding' is: mind, will, and intellect. Also, the 'eyes of our understanding' is translated, literally, as the 'eyes of our imagination.' This is the same realm that little children naturally live in; the realm of the imagination. Scripture says, "…Meditate within your heart on your bed and be still" (Psalms 4:4). Many of us in the church today have shut our imagination down. When we've imagined something, we've called it pride and arrogance. It's like we don't want to dream because it could be a dangerous thing to do. However, when we exercise our spiritual senses by dreaming with God or fantasizing by the power of the Holy Ghost, we will discover our treasure, our heart's desire. This year the Lord has lost dreams that He is offering to us -- they can be ours when we learn to dream by faith. There is something inside each of us the moment that we were born again -- a seed of desire, a treasure that God planted. God says He will do exceedingly abundantly above anything we can even ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). HEAVEN UNVEILS HIDDEN TREASURES In many other ways the Lord also communicated that He would be unveiling His hidden mysteries and secrets for those who would fear Him. He is about to reveal, to our generation, mysteries that have been hidden since the beginning of time. While Todd was waiting on the Lord, an angel appeared, his robe covered in diamonds, rubies, and precious stones. He looked like a man; the stones of the 12 tribes of Israel were imbedded in His robe. In the vision, the angel came to what appeared like a bank vault. He opened the vault and white, blinding, golden beams of light shone out. The vault held the hidden treasures of wisdom and revelation. It also contained the unsearchable riches of Christ from Colossians 2:2,3, which speaks of "the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." This year God wants to reveal those treasures that are hidden in Christ, but He will only disclose them to those who seek God's face and then come into face to face encounters with Him. God is inviting His people, in a greater way, to have revelatory understanding of things that are only going to be revealed in this generation. The Lord then began to speak about Matthew 13 for this year. The passage compares the kingdom of God to a treasure hidden in a field. The fact that it is hidden suggests that to find the treasures of the kingdom we must seek them out. In this next season God is calling His people to seek after His treasures, the increase in wisdom and revelation -- those who seek will find. In the parable, the field cost everything to the treasure seeker -- yet he gave everything for the joy of what was hidden there. In the same way, we are called "as servants of Christ" to be good "stewards of the mysteries of God" (1 Corinthians 4:1-2). A steward is defined as "One who manages another's property, finances, or other affairs." A good steward is one who is found faithful. The Lord is looking for those he can entrust to be stewards with His gifts of revelation, those who will be faithful to hold to the integrity of the word of God, and those who won't step back for fear that they will be misunderstood with what God shows them. The Lord wants them to be stewards who will speak out the mysteries He has called them to share, and hide in their hearts (and pray about) those mysteries He has told them not to share. In another prophetic experience, Todd was given a rolled up parchment scroll. On it he saw written "John the Beloved." Then came a voice saying "eat the scroll." This vision indicates that God is about to reveal hidden treasures of revelation as well as greater understanding of themes in prophecy, especially dealing with prophecy in the book of Daniel or Revelation. As in the case of John, the disciple who was closest to Jesus, the one who leaned on His chest, those who develop intimacy with Jesus will be the ones to receive great revelation from Him. THE FAST FOR REVELATION Todd also received word from the Lord that He is calling a fast, like the 21-day fast of Daniel, for those who want the increase of understanding and revelation, the treasures that are hidden. Daniel fasted for the purpose of getting understanding and revelation. He fasted for three weeks to get understanding of the things that he had already previously seen and heard in revelation and vision. We sense that God is saying that He will increase wisdom and understanding for those who would do the 21-day Daniel fast. He will even uncover mysteries.
